This is a beautiful book my master created many years ago. It's about the course of the year. All the months are depicted in poems. It took him two years and a half to finish it. He did all the calligraphy and also created all the illustrations. |

"On the true Nature of the Year" ...
... is a lavishly featured poetry volume. Twelfe authors of the Badenian "Steinbachensemble" are describing in 24 poems all the months of the year.
Norman Hothum illustrated this poetical journey through the course of the year. Inspired by late gothic manuscripts he created about 29 lavishly illustrated pages carrying you off into the world of medieval everyday life. The text pages of the original he wrote - as it was common centuries ago - with a goose quill. Floral miniatures embellish the margins.
